About me

Hi! I’m Yuki.

From a young age, I was taught that hard work leads to a happy and successful life. Whenever I faced challenges, I just pushed through until I conquered them. As I keep conquering each stage (like a videogame), I eventually became a doctor, believing that was going to be my “happily-ever-after.”

I also got married and had three children during this process.

Even though I had everything I wanted, I was miserable. No matter how hard I worked, somehow my husband and I had constant fights. No matter how hard I tried to withstand, the fights didn’t go away. I was so hopeless.

That’s when I discovered Laura Doyle's Six Intimacy Skills. I learned that while perseverance helps in a career, it wasn't helping me create a happy marriage. By using these skills, I turned my home into a happy, peaceful, warm, and joyful place. I became a certified relationship coach with Laura Doyle, because I realize I’m not the only well-meaning woman with suffering relationship.

I've also been studying Buddhist teachings and Self-compassion meditation. My cultural background, long tough years of medical training, and being a mother shaped a harsh inner critic and a mindset that valued self-sacrifice. This sometimes works against truly mastering Laura’s Six Intimacy Skills. As I improved upon self-compassion, I saw that I can truly practice self-care. For me, realizing that self-compassion was an integral part of self-care was a HUGE step towards happiness!
